Bibliografía para ingeniería de Procesos
This book provides a comprehensive introduction to chemical process engineering, linking the fundamental theory and concepts to the industrial day-to-day practice. This 2nd Edition contains all-new chapters on mechanical and bioprocess engineering. It enables the reader to integrate fundamental knowledge of the basic disciplines, to understand key chemical processes, and to apply this knowledge to the practice in industry.
The field of chemical engineering is undergoing a global "renaissance," with new processes, equipment, and sources changing literally every day. It is a dynamic, important area of study and the basis for some of the most lucrative and integral fields of science. Introduction to Chemical Engineering offers a comprehensive overview of the concept, principles and applications of chemical engineering. It explains the distinct chemical engineering knowledge which gave rise to a general-purpose technology and broadest engineering field.
This book provides the reader with:
• a comprehensive description of engineering activities carried out on oil & gas projects,
• a description of the work of each engineering discipline, including illustrations of all common documents,
• an overall view of the plant design sequence and schedule,
• practical tools to manage and control engineering activities.Analysis, Synthesis, and Design of Chemical Processes, presents design as a creative process that integrates the big-picture and small details, and knows which to stress when and why. Realistic from start to finish, it moves students beyond classroom exercises into open-ended, real-world problem solving.
Process Equipment and Plant Design: Principles and Practices takes a holistic approach towards process design in the chemical engineering industry, dealing with the design of individual process equipment and its configuration as a complete functional system. Chapters cover typical heat and mass transfer systems and equipment included in a chemical engineering curriculum, such as heat exchangers, heat exchanger networks, evaporators, distillation, absorption, adsorption, reactors and more.
The authors expand on additional topics such as industrial cooling systems, extraction, and topics on process utilities, piping and hydraulics, including instrumentation and safety basics that supplement the equipment design procedure and help to arrive at a complete plant design. The chapters are arranged in sections pertaining to heat and mass transfer processes, reacting systems, plant hydraulics and process vessels, plant auxiliaries, and engineered safety as well as a separate chapter showcasing examples of process design in complete plants.
This comprehensive reference bridges the gap between industry and academia, while exploring best practices in design, including relevant theories in process design making this a valuable primer for fresh graduates and professionals working on design projects in the industry.A principal objective of this new edition is to describe modern strategies for the design of chemical products and processes, with an emphasis on a systematic approach. This edition presents two parallel tracks: (1) product design, and (2) process design, with an emphasis on process design.
This book present relevant design equations, show how to analyze operation of existing equipment, offer a practical methodology for designing new equipment, and introduce software programs for solving common problems.
Process Integration and Intensification (PII) is one of the most timely topics in chemical and process engineering leading to energy efficient, substantially smaller, cleaner, safer and optimized processes. The book covers optimization fundamentals and industrial applications. It is an authoritative overview meant to help graduate students as well as professionals to effectively apply PII in plant design and operation.

Introduction to Software for Chemical Engineers, Second Edition provides a quick guide to the use of various computer packages for chemical engineering applications. It covers a range of software applications from Excel and general mathematical packages such as MATLAB and MathCAD to process simulators, CHEMCAD and ASPEN, equation-based modeling languages, gProms, optimization software such as GAMS and AIMS, and specialized software like CFD or DEM codes. The different packages are introduced and applied to solve typical problems in fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, mass and energy balances, unit operations, reactor engineering, process and equipment design and control.
The book discusses physical properties for proprietary materials, pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sector heuristics, process design, closed-loop heat transfer systems, heat exchangers, packed columns and structured packings.
An Applied Guide to Process and Plant Design, Second Edition, covers plant layout, the use of spreadsheet programs, and key drawings produced by professional engineers as aids to design—all topics typically learned on the job rather than in education. Readers will learn how to produce smarter plant design through the use of computer tools, including Excel and AutoCAD, "What If Analysis", statistical tools and Visual Basic for more complex problems. The book also includes a wealth of selection tables, covering the key aspects of professional plant design which engineering students and early-career engineers tend to find most challenging.
This book is a results-oriented reference for engineers who specify, design, maintain or run chemical and process plant. This book delivers information on the selection, sizing and operation of process equipment in a format that enables quick and accurate decision making on standard process and equipment choices, saving time, improving productivity, building understanding
As the subtitle indicates, the overriding intention of the authors has been to provide a practical guide to the design of electrolytic plant. We wanted to show that the procedures for the design and optimization of such a plant are essentially simple and can be performed by readers comparatively new to the electrochemical field. It was important to realize that electrochemical engineering should not be confused with applied electrochemistry but had to be based on the principles of chemical engineering. For this reason, reference is often made to standard chemical engineering texts. Since this is a practical guide rather than a textbook, we have included a large number of worked examples on the principle that a good worked example is worth many paragraphs of text. In some examples we have quoted costs, e.g., of chemicals, plant or services.
